New Etsy Team.... Etsy Trolls

Only a couple of weeks ago, several Michiganders and I decided to start a new Etsy team, of Michigan artists. It hss had great success and I am amazed at how many people want to be a part of this group! We are now, officially the Etsy Trolls, or Etsy Michigan Trolls. For anyone not from Michigan, a troll is someone who lives below the Mackinaw Bridge. It is a team of talented artists of many styles. We hope to do an occasional craft show, and try and get this Michigan economy rolling again! Please comment and check comments below to see who is part of the team. Yay Trolls!

HEAVENLY SCENTS Workshop Project

I was asked to teach an altered journal workshop at the wonderful Heavenly Scents Herb Farm, in Fenton, Michigan. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to be asked, and I am really looking forward to seeing what the participants come up with! The theme will be a garden/nature theme, and of course will revolve around vintage items that can be used to embellish them. I have already been preparing; getting images copied, items purchased, plans made. First thing I did was to make two actual samples of what an altered journal in the garden/nature theme might look like. This is my interpretation. Of course, each person will have their own personality show up in their work of art. Please contact me for any details!

My Creations

A Little Gypsy In All Of Us

One of my favorite items I have made was using a free image at outsider-artists.net site. They are generous enough to give wonderful images to use. This is a shadow box made from an old frame. They were also kind enough to post this, along with a few other pieces of mine at their site. I might have a hard time parting with this one...

Stone Tile Image transfer

I experimented with Golden Gel Medium ( light, matte) and transferring an image directly onto a stone tile. I love the outcome, especially for a first attempt. Getting rid of every single speck of paper can be a challenge, though.

NEED IDEAS!

I acquired this "shadow box" with a lot of old yardsticks I purchased on Ebay. I didn't even purchase the lot knowing this would be in it, but when I saw it, I knew it was destined to be a wonderful thing! It is made with 3 distressed "Flying Goose" yardsticks, glued/nailed together, then 12 compartments made up of more Flying Goose yardstick pieces. I have 12 various sized compartments to do something with and I am looking for ideas, because I just can't seem to make up my mind on what route to take. Any help? Please zoom in the photos so you can get a close look :)

New year, new item

Well the kids are finally back to their own routine and so am I. I created this shadow box last night and this morning and had so much fun creating it, I can't wait to make more! I also listed some things I made 2 weeks before Christmas that I never got the chance to list. Hope the sales are going well for everyone so far this year.
