Tintypes have always amazed me. My first love with tintypes was as a little girl, when we had a tintype of my great great grandfather displayed in a very special spot at home. Complete with the ornate glassed in case, the tiny little latch and hinges and velvet lining the inside, it was one of my Mother's most prized posessions and I knew from then on it was something I hoped would be passed down to me one day. Gladly it was, but with acquiring it, came the knowledge that my Mother was no longer with us. I cherish it every time I look at it and have vowed deep revenge on anyone who ever damages it in anyway! Recently in my scouting for the best of vintage deals, I picked up a large lot of gem size tintypes AND some mini watchmakers vials, more than I will ever have a use for, so I am giving my blog friends a chance to win these 3 "gems" and 3 of the vintage vials. I hope you can find a use for them and will enjoy their aged perfection as much as I do. Just please leave a note to this post on anything you would like to say. I will draw someones name from a "hat" on February 26th.... my Mother's birthday. I will notify you either by blog or e-mail, so please be sure there is some kind of contact information in your message. Thank you and good luck!

How lovely to have found your work (and then a bit of you) on my surfing through Etsy. I will surely look more when time allows. I teach 300 students art in a public middle school in Ct. My time for myself is from 5 Am to 6AM when I can sneak to the computer and visit and meet others quietly. (When one teaches 120 middle schooler s day I find I cherish the quiet) I love your sensibility and will be back soon! Thank you, Meg in Ct.
