What a Discovery!

Only a few feet from the window of our cabin, we happened to come upon this tiny Hummingbird nest, with the mother flitting around and stopping every so often to sit on her eggs.  She didn't seem to mind on-lookers, so I quickly snapped a few pictures of her, then admired her from afar, so I wouldn't disturb her.  I wish we were at our cabin more often so I could see the progress of the babies!   I imagine by the time I am back up there, they will have hatched, and "flown the coop"!  I also wish I'd had my camera when we were boating on the river and happened to witness a Bald Eagle swooping down for his fish dinner right in front of us!

I've never seen a hummingbird nest, so glad you got pictures. Aren't they adorable? Were you at the cottage for the 4th? It took us 5 1/2 hours to get home yesterday! Whew! Hope to see you soon, Dawn
