New Workshop .... 3 Weeks Away~!~

 If you are in the south eastern Michigan area and love vintage style jewelry, this  is for you!!  On Saturday, March 1,  I will have the pleasure of teaching a jewelry workshop at Heavenly Scent Herb Farm , where  we will make this beautiful, vintage style necklace.  Oodles of rhinestones, crystals, rosary segments, wire wrapped beads and chain segments will make up the chain portion of this long,  mid-chest piece and the pendant is made of an ornate escutcheon (antique keyhole) and skeleton key.  You will learn many basic jewelry skills, how to distress and age metal, how to build layers and design your own chain out of found objects and beads.  Class size is limited, so if you are interested,   check out mid-Heavenly Scent Herb Farm's website  for sign up info.  Don't miss out!

Something Wicked This Way Comes~!~!

Fall is here, and so is the season of witches, goblin's and things that go "bump" in the night!  My favorite time is upon us.  To me, the "holidays" that most people consider Christmas and New Year's, actually begins just before Halloween.  That is when my mind goes into overdrive with plans, creations and decorations to come.  Soon I will be taking the black and orange decor down and replacing it with white and silver.   But before that happens, I clicked a few shots of some of the Halloween vignette's around our house~   Happy Haunting!!

My art friend, Gail Schmidt of Shabby Cottage Studio always hosts the best art challenges, but unfortunately it has been wayyyyy too long since I was able to join in. Decorating Re-Do's

Finally, in our small old house, after 3 out of 4 of our  kids moving out, we are able to have a guest room. It was a long time coming, but worth the wait.  Some peeks into what I have been up to lately.  

Stretched Too Thin~

Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Etsy Groups, Blogger, where do we draw the line on social media? As hard as it is to  stay away from my blog, it is equally as hard to find the time to post here,  and lately my posts have been few and far between.  Please do not take this personally,  all of you faithful followers!  No, no, no.  I still enjoy following fellow artists and admirers and staying in tune with what is being created in your studios, and also love showing off what is being created in mine. Thinking Spring~!~

My tastes seem to be leaning towards soft, Spring colors lately!  I've been sewing up a storm layering, sorting and assembling some fabric collages that are really making me anxious for warmer, sunnier weather.  Michigan is definitely not known for warm sunny winter days, so until the real thing moves in, I will have to settle for these bright, "sunny" pieces.
