~~My Artwork is Mentioned on the Cover of a Magazine~!~!

~~August 5th.... Mark it on your calendar~!  This is when the next issue of Creating Vintage Charm  will be available.  I was informed last night that my art work (vintage beach themed shadowbox) was not only mentioned on the cover, but will be included as a tutorial on how to create your own! Cannot wait to see it in print~~~

Time to really set my mind to creating for the Heavenly Scents Herb Farm Summer Faire coming up the last weekend in August. With 95+ degree temperatures predicted this week, it's yet another good reason to stay indoors and make hay while the sun shines~ Right now I am concentrating on some altered journals which always sell well. And hey, if they don't sell, it will help pad my Etsy shop for the holidays, right? Always have to look on the bright side!

I RARELY win anything. Try as I might, I always seem to be left out in the cold when it comes to giveaways. Well not this time!.  Stacey of ArtSnark's Artifacts blog  recently travelled to Paris (lucky!) and was kind and thoughtful enough to remember her blog readers, and set up a blog giveaway when she returned. ~~Putting My Great Finds to Use~~

Remember when I posted (bragged) about the good deals scored at the Peacock Antiques warehouse sale and the out of the way antiques store a few weeks ago?  The frames have been calling me, and I've put them to good use housing some handmade collages I've made.  The one piece I also included some of the antique hardware I was lucky enough to find.  I'm getting (frantically) ready for the Heavenly Scent Herb Farm Summer Faire I do every August, so 2 more pieces down,  several more to go~~~!

~~New Haul on Old Rusty Treasures~~

Score!!   I love anything old worn and rusty. Perfect for assemblages,jewelry, mixed media and altered art. Found at an out of the way antique store I picked up a lot of perhaps 100 pieces of wonderfully patinaed furniture and architectural hardware for a mere $15!!!  I am selling some of it at my Etsy supplies shop HERE and will be keeping some myself for future art endeavors still bouncing around in my head.  If you love old rusty hardware as much as I do,  this is a blog readers special I am offering,  20% off any of the several lots I just listed this morning.  Please mention in your check out that you found this offer in my blog, and I will promptly refund your 20%  through Paypal.  Many uses for these oldies~~

A large selection of old looking frames to do some artwork in $2 and $3 a piece.  Can't go wrong with that! 

For years my favorite "antique" store, "Peacock Antiques" was just miles from my house. Sometime ago they closed the store which was open for non-wholesale and my life has not been the same since!  Architectural antiques and finds, amazing reproductions that are sometimes hard to tell from a true antique, garden statuary, and goods for the home filled this one of a kind shop.  Recently however, they announced a warehouse sale open to the public and for weeks I was filled with anticipation on what I might find. I was not disappointed.  The prices were as amazing as the items themselves. I was like a kid in a candy store.  I am talking Christmas morning excited!!  Above are a few of my finds,  only a sampling, actually.  I am already counting the days until the next warehouse sale!
